[ 3.6 ms ] story [ 480 ms ] threadFor over a decade, I worked at the same company, where I designed, developed, and deployed a suite of enterprise applications serving 700+ active daily users. These systems have operated seamlessly and unattended for the past year, showcasing my commitment to building robust and reliable software.
Most recently, I contributed to a Y Combinator startup (Central, YC S24), leading the development of several features such as external service integrations, TOTP-based MFA, and user-facing workflows.
I'm passionate about solving complex problems and creating efficient, scalable solutions, and I'm particularly drawn to projects that align with my ethical values, avoiding industries that harm the environment, compromise health, or raise ethical concerns. I aim to contribute positively to the world through my work.

I have over 15 years of software development experience and 10 years of solution architecture experience. I have experience architecting solutions for both AWS and GCP.
I am interested in both a full time position and freelance projects. I'm also a quick learner, so if there's a technology that I don't already have experience with I'd love the opportunity to expand my knowledge and jump in and help wherever I can.

Before that, I completed my PhD in HRI (Human-Robot Interaction) at the University of Oxford, in conjunction with the University of Canterbury, where I focused on the persuasive power of voice agents. My favorite working environments are early-stage startups with high growth potential.
Recently, with the release of the OpenAI real-time API, my interest in VUI (Voice User Interface) was reignited. I really love the VUI paradigm and strongly believe it will be the next big change in the way we communicate with computers.
Here is a project I built during the winter holiday: https://www.callgeist.com. I used almost exclusively Cursor for the UI. The backend uses Twilio + OpenAI real-time.
Here are a couple of other things I did last year:

I am a physicist with lots of software experience in many domains, including scientific computing, distributed systems, finance & trading, machine learning, and power grid infrastructure.
I maintain several free and open-source software packages, including Cloud Haskell and science-focused packages: https://github.com/LaurentRDC
I have experience as a scientific software engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, and quantitative research at a systematic proprietary trading firm specialized in North American power markets. I have also tried starting my own startup in the cleantech space (https://powerweave.io/), which ultimately ran out of runway -- still a valuable experience!
I am interested in many things, including reconnecting with my Physics education and research background -- ideally looking for a role tackling open-ended questions which involves high-performance and/or scientific computing, physics, engineering, etc.
Otherwise, climate technologies, national defense, and software correctness are also interesting. But really, I'm interested in being intellectually stimulated, so don't hesitate to reach out!

Email: chimamireme@gmail.com
Summary: I’m a software engineer with extensive experience in backend development, cloud infrastructure, and scalable systems. Over my career, I’ve optimized the 99th percentile performance for APIs in high-load systems, deployed serverless architectures, and built high-performance microservices for fintech and marketplace platforms.
I was previously co-founder of a B2B data operations tool, Shipyard. Before that, I was the Head of Data at PMG Digital Agency where I built the team from the ground up. It's most important for me to work for a mission-driven company that wants to scale with bold and innovative approaches. I want to sink my teeth into tough problems and learn new things.
I'll do my best work focused on a mix of data, AI, and product. I can seamlessly adapt between IC or management roles and I prefer to have a decent amount of time hands on. Smaller organizations with the ability to build something from the ground up is a big plus. Despite my background, I'd like to avoid working in the advertising space.

I am a data engineer and a broadly skilled generalist senior developer - and in the past, a bioinformatician.
Bio summary: After a graduating with a maths degree in 2014 and an early career role in finance, I found my path to data engineering in bioinformatics in 2016, initially as a full stack developer in a research institute and then taking on increasingly data focused work. I worked in life sciences for many years, until in 2023 I joined a healthcare startup, which for an exciting year and a half was a great opportunity to experiment with 'modern practice' like Databricks and integrating LLMs. Looking for new opportunities to engage in meaningful work.
From my bioinformatics and data engineer experience, I'm good at interfacing with researchers and turning ideas and prototypes into working products: developing data flow workflows, evaluating performance of models, providing interfaces and entry points for clients, and more.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of contributing to significant projects in academic, commercial, and non-profit settings. If my profile or any of the technologies listed resonate with you, feel free to reach out via email!
While I'm familiar with various technologies, my passion lies in programming with Rust. Whether it's backend development, blockchain, compilers, DevOps, embedded systems or mobile applications, I am totally onboard as long as there is a little bit of Rust involved.

Hi, I am a Full-Stack developer currently offering freelance services, looking to work with a startup or a company at a junior/mid-level role. I am an adaptable learner and like to work on and solve problems. I am currently exploring AI/ML domain and actively contributing on Kaggle.
My most proud contribution was in a startup I got hired by recently. It was an Enterprise LLM-based customer support service provider. I was hired as a frontend developer initially but had to step up and handle the backend as well in it's later stages. When I got to work in the AWS ecosystem, making lambda functions and setting up NLP workflows for fine-tuning the LLM without any prior experience, I realized that my most valuable skill is actually problem solving. And that tech stacks are just tools meant to solve the problems. The project was successfully delivered.
Do reach out to me if you need help in setting up a project. I'm also open to job opportunities (part time, contract, or full time).
Software engineer / M.Eng. / cloud architect / founder / VP over a ~20 year run, mainly in the US healthcare space with some education, finance, fitness, real estate, and ecommerce mixed in.
I've contributed in large organizations, developed teams in greenfield startups, and founded my own. I have a high attention to detail with a focus on user value, performance, data integrity, security, and tend to be the one that catches things others overlook. More recently I've successfully guided companies through healthcare compliance (SOC & HITRUST) both organizationally and technologically in addition to my roles in engineering leadership.
The ideal role for me would be solving difficult organizational/technical challenges that bring value to the real estate, energy, or healthcare space as an IC or leading a small team with an existing company, or jumpstarting/deploying into a new opportunity with a venture studio or small business.

I’m a product designer with a passion for crafting user experiences that are not just visually appealing but also intuitive and enjoyable to use. Whether it’s a simple app or a complex business solution, I specialize in designing data-heavy interfaces that turn intricate information into clean, user-friendly designs.
I’m dedicated to seeing projects through from the first brainstorming session to the final launch. I love taking on complex challenges and transforming them into elegant, easy-to-use solutions. My approach is hands-on and detail-oriented: I dive deep into planning, create detailed prototypes, and ensure every pixel is in the right place before a product goes out the door. I believe in the power of data-driven design, but I also never forget the importance of making products that users will love.
