I want to be excited about this but I feel like I don't quite get it.

What I imagined from the subject heading is like a barebones canvas with the most rudimentary implemented features, but then a neat way of building more features. If that's what it is, then it needs some docs.

Interesting. I also had the idea of a web-based programable painting program, where new brushes could be shared.
