We struggled to keep up with the content we wanted to consume quickly. And tools like ChatGPT felt manual and inconsistent, so we made GOAT a browser extension to make summarization easier.
What we made: An Extension (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc)
-An Extension that generates structured summaries (TL;DR, main points, context, and significance) right on the page with 1-click (no prompting needed)
-Works across formats, including articles, PDFs, and YouTube videos
Challenges We Faced:
1. Parsing diverse formats: Building tools to handle PDFs, videos, and other media reliably
2. Balancing depth and brevity: Fine-tuning the model to ensure summaries are both concise and meaningful
3. Integrating with workflows: We added features like saved summaries and sharing to make it more practical
Feedback we are looking for:
1. Is the summarization accurate and useful for your needs?
2. How could we improve usability or expand functionality?
3. Are there specific integrations or features you'd like to see?
