Things were going pretty well until I got to this statement:
If your child is born this year, they are likely going to live through +1.5°C of warming by the time they are 25. A fact that is likely going to cause a 40% to 50% drop in the global food supply and a reduction of 2.5 billion — 4 billion in the global population by 2050, at a minimum.
Saying the population is likely to decrease by 30% to 50% by 2050 seems a bit alarmist to me. At least without providing some context on where those numbers are coming from.
This is the problem I see with these reports. The climate scientists are doing a great job forecasting the global climate changes, but they're not necessarily the people who should be assessing impacts. Making alarmist claims without any substantiating evidence, which is mostly outside of their field of expertise, is causing many to reject the claims and evidence that is within their domain of expertise. This isn't helping.
Just stick with the climate facts. Let other experts weigh-in on the climate impacts.
