I’m kind of embarrassed at this level of corruption.
it's corruption to donate to an inauguration fund?
The entire concept of an inauguration fund is corruption. Public ceremonies should either be paid with tax money or not held at all.
I agree, but mostly because I think the office of President has become too culturally powerful, and the ceremony too much like that of a monarch. I want my President to be a bureaucrat, with their election and inauguration having no more pomp and circumstance than the hiring of an office worker.

Maybe we wouldn't get narcissists like Trump and Musk in the White House if the office seemed beneath their dignity.

I think an electoral majority of Americans don’t want the federal government to be spending their tax dollars on this and are happy to see private businesses contributing instead. Perhaps other agencies (such as SEC, FCC, FAA, FDA, etc.) can operate similarly and help lower the burden on taxpayers.
It's common that corruption persists, because people prefer it that way. But that doesn't make it any less corrupt.
Don’t do this. The entire history of the Roman republic is people purchasing power and armies, follow the money, abstract it down to .. coin.

Cesar owned armies, owned, then he took them and marched on Rome.

First buy the army.

Were you embarrassed when they did it in 2020, 2017, and 2012?
I have been stunned into a catatonic state from the embarrassment. Nay, it’s a violation. I feel violated.

Right to our faces, unhinged.
