Parallels 20.2: Run Intel x86 VMs on Apple Silicon Macs (kb.parallels.com) 2 points by solardev 1y ago ↗ HN
[–] solardev 1y ago ↗ Apparently the newest Parallels now lets you run x86 VMs on M-series computers. (Previously, you could only run Windows Arm, and Microsoft's own virtualization/emulation inside Windows was what let you run some x86 software).
[–] johng 1y ago ↗ I think the built in Mac hypervisor lets you do this as well doesn't it? [–] solardev 1y ago ↗ Apparently, yes: https://mac.getutm.app/ [–] skygazer 1y ago ↗ I don't think that's right. UTM falls back to QEMU for x86 emulation.
