I'm kinda shocked by all this. I'm aware of states forcing ISP's to block connecting to websites. NYS blocked a crypto site I used and i believe some states block access to pornographic websites.

This nyt article states the law passed by Congress will force ISP 's to block Americans from accessing Tik Toks website. This must be unprecedented?

Using this legal precedent, will the U.S begin asking ISP's to block Americans from accessing other websites?

No, it doesn't. It says "the law applies to internet hosting companies." Not ISPs.

Okay. I stand corrected. So no US company can host tik Tok. I wonder what happens if a foreign country hosts tik tok
