Likely so, and one wonders whether the EU has the intestinal fortitude and resilience to stand up to such US imperialism. If it hasn't then that'd be a bad sign and quickly noted by Russia and China.

Capitulating to the US bully would be very bad for the EU in the long run.

EU will maybe have to open-up more towards China. Like last time when Trump was president.
