Ask HN: Is the River reverse proxy project doing well?

I see there's very little activity (at least in the main branch) of the River proxy repository [1], so I wonder if the project is doing well? There was a lot of excitement about it when Cloudflare open-sourced their "pingora" Rust library, but it doesn't seem like there's a good ecosystem developing around that. Anyone using River in production or planning to? Anyone tried it and hit some roadblocks?
