This feels so much like an ad it hurts
This feels like a good opportunity to break away from using a short video app in your day to day life, instead of finding yet another one. Similar to how post Twitter becoming X, it has become clear the actual need for people to have a micro blogging service is quite limited.
>while TikTok isn’t in China at all.

I thought it's just under a different name? (Plus I heard their analog has more constructive content)

Yeah, it's under the name "Douyin"
It's a similar app (not 100% the same), with different names, rules and all.

A douyin user can't view tiktok videos, and neither tiktok users can view douyin videos.

It’s the number one downloaded app for iPhone when I checked earlier today.

While I do agree that it’s a good time to quit short form video, I prefer the medium for recipes ever since SEO ruined searching for printable recipes.

Not all bad.
