Saw this mentioned on the big thread about Bambu Labs recent “security” update. The project hadn’t been submitted in several months, so I figured time to resubmit.

Since the project was started, TeachingTech put the X1Plus devs in touch with Bambu Labs corporate. Apparently as a result, Bambu released tool that allows you to downgrade your firmware to a version X1Plus can exploit to sideload community firmware.

Does this still allow use of the lidar + laser leveling systems?
Yes it does.

The bed levelling/tramming process is even better and gives you more information/control over things.

So far, I have had it for a week, printed about 36+ hours and not a problem - seems smoother than before.

As far as I can tell, this is exclusively for the X1C. There is not yet an equivalent for the P1S, correct?
Correct - the P1S and other machines do not run a full Linux AFAIK.

One third-party manufacturer is looking at making replacement control boards.
