That's because everyone hoped on Claude while Chat is down. Now when Claude is also under heavy load, DeepSeek it is!

So my conspiracy theory of hostile takeover where all AI service are held ransom by an alien race doesn't hold up :-(

This is one of the reasons I use Gemini, Google production services are very reliable. Liking the new Gemini + Deep Research too

Looking forward to the postmortem over this outage.

OpenAI has really gotten terrible overtime with maintaining uptime with the likes of Google or Meta. Perhaps it is this pervasive lack of experience with site-reliabililty engineering that is missing at OpenAI.

But once again, local modals such as DeepSeek-R1 don't need this sort of waiting or multiple outages.
