The stay pending appeal was denied by this judge.That is not the same as an appeal being denied. At all. It just means the judge has said he will not stop the trial while they appeal his order.In practice, the next step will be for them to ask the appeals court for a stay instead, which they already did.If that is denied, it will be worse for them, and if their actual appeal is denied, then they will have lost something.
