Is there any research on Unsupervised Learning?

All I'm seeing today is supervised learning, llm, openai, deepseek, r1, blabla, supervised stuff. But none of these will help us reach true AGI. Is there ny research being done (or places where I can keep myself up to date on that stuff) out there?
