This would carry more weight if the same protests were lodged in regards to Bush II's public advocacy for torture. The recriminations would similarly carry more weight if left-wing-darling-cum-warmonger Obama didn't publicly excuse Bush II for his crimes by citing the need to "move forward" while ordering extrajudicial drone strikes on US citizens.

The outrage feels entirely performative when contrasted against the above. Perhaps the party of the Cheneys has expired. Perhaps things took a turn when Jeb Bush failed to secure the nomination in 2016, even with the support of a fawning right-wing media.

Since the party's "southern strategy", the party of Lincoln aligned itself with racism in order to gain votes.

Besides being a reprehensible platform, it is disingenuous in that it relies on hoodwinking [0] (imgbb.com) lower income voters via racism and populism into advancing lower taxes for the wealthy and reduced regulation, in effect, welfare for the rich.
