I already liked Acemoglu; this is a great article.

For background, Acemoglu won the 2024 Nobel in Economics [1] with Simon Johnson. I very much like their book "Power and Progress: Our Thousand-Year Struggle Over Technology and Prosperity" [2]. Quoting Wikipedia [3] "Power and Progress argues that technologies do not automatically yield social goods." The book also makes policy proposals which include a digital advertising tax.
