It sounds like potentially any pets registered through this service are no longer able to be reunited with their owners unless the chip serial number is manually re-registered with a different company, such as Free Pet Chip Registry or 24 Pet Watch.
From the American Kennel Club: "If your dog or cat has a microchip number that starts with 991 or 900164 then it could be a Save This Life microchip. Save This Life suddenly closed, and your pet may not be protected."
This company's sitemap is publicly exposing more than a million microchip IDs and some pictures of cute animals. I am saving those to web.archive.org in case it might be helpful in future.

They really should hand over the microchip IDs and owner contact info to another party so that vets can still look up owners.
