Show HN: Fuckingsearch.com, search Google without AI Overviews (fuckingsearch.com)

i saw last week that if you include a curse word in your Google search query it won't serve an AI overview, serves less ads, and less "zero click" Google properties.

so I made a little tool to help facilitate this search, saving you literally hundreds of microseconds!

At first I thought of this as a hilarious website that just makes a point.

But ... this is surprisingly useful and google looks way better this way.

!!!

glad it's useful!

and yeah, surprising how much better it makes the SERPs lol

Shiiiit, it does removed more ads and that AI bullshit. Thx for the extra microseconds.
haha yw!

thanks for checking it out :)

When I first saw this, I thought it was attempting to be its own engine, and thus subject to becoming a verb: no longer "just google it" but rather "just fuck it"

However, having thought about this further I now wonder what the range is of curse words that Google exempts from ad placement. The 7 words you can't say on TV? Or do the advertisers themselves choose the opt-out words?

could be a fun nsfw experiment haha
A little feedback: I would use this but I don't really want to open a website with that domain on on my corporate network. Maybe a second domain?
Though I fully approve the posted link, I do something similar in a different way; maybe it will work for you:

0. use firefox and ublock origin to take care of the ads

1. (re)enable custom search urls[0]

2. add https://www.google.com/search?udm=14&q=%s as such a custom search url

Steps 1 & 2 avoid the AI spam on default google by telling it to use the "web" search context ("udm=14").

You have to name your search url, so I call mine Plain Old Google, or POG for short.

Anyone else using Kagi? I just stared and am liking it so far. My "search" query volume has gone down 50x since chatGPT does a lot of my searching for me, but if I'm looking for a link a traditional search engine is still useful. (not a sponsor)
Yeah I'm a fan except for when I'm looking for things to buy or comparisons of products, which I suspect is less a Kagi issue and more the fact that it is trying to correct for spam and advertorial which unfortunately comprises most of that content online.
There's also udm14 for just appending &udm14 to the end of search results to hide AI summaries.

Doesn't this affect the search results though?
Nice.

I tested by searching for “Ay.”

Leaving it to the reader to guess the assembled search query ;)
