Will a Chinese fab achieve volume production at <N nm nodes before 2030? (metaculus.com)

Metaculus isn't the be all and end all, but it looks like a prediction market is putting the chance of China achieving 2nm in the next 5 years down to a coin flip.

I wonder what the nm even means. It’s already just a marketing term for others. Are the claims from Xiaomi exaggerated?
