Can't pretend I'm the biggest fan of everything Elon's been doing, but in a different universe, where he was brought into government solely to help work on FAA's software operations, I think I'd find this to be something he probably could make some sizable and positive contributions to.
lol wut? Safety is the exact opposite domain of a guy that believes in breaking things fast, like all his rockets that keep exploding.

The guy has no attention to detail, given that he knows nothing besides surface-level knowledge of anything, including how government works. He’s a get-rich-quick finance scam bro, not a detail oriented engineer. None of his products will ever have a lasting impact. They could all disappear today and no one would notice.

And you need a detail-oriented engineer instead of get-rich-quick finance scam-bro to build critiv safety systems.

I’d trust Blue Origin over Space-X to build a reliable system.

Yeah, but not if the first move is firing people.

Well, at least the FAA makes a direct enough impact on the current admin's electorate that they aren't going to get away with substantial flight cancellations due to insufficient ATC. Many of the other agencies getting the cut don't have as wide and direct impact to US broadly to be able to convince the current admin's electorate to restore them.

Yeah: "The cancellations are part of the Deep State working to sabotage the mandate of the new administration."
