Ask HW: Does anybody tried to improve compilers (ie C++) with AI?

Yesterday I had this experience: I asked ChatGPT to improve my NodeJS code for performance, and it got really fast.

Now, what happens if we improve the Assembler compilers, C compilers, C++, etc? Improving a C compiler in a 1% with AI would improve the performance of absolutely every single code in the world.

Have somebody already tried it? Any document there showing the results?
