Is there anywhere truly safe to go? Now that Trump has openly shown his true colors and, in my view, sold us out to Putin, is Europe even a viable option anymore? I would have left the country years ago if I didn’t have a child. Now, I feel my only choice is to dig in and endure.
I live in Alabama, which has been experiencing a brain drain for years. I have one of the few software engineering jobs in my area, and we struggle to hire local talent. We haven't been able to hire anyone local to fill our tech roles because no one with any sense would want to move to Alabama.
It feels as though the entire nation is turning into one big Alabama, where our scientific and technological minds will naturally look elsewhere for both safety and stability—neither of which Trump seems able to provide.
Americans are emigrating in record numbers due to the perceived chaos and instability under the leadership of Trump and Musk. The lack of effective intervention from Congress has left many feeling hopeless about the immediate future. With the next election still two years away, there's growing concern that the situation will not improve, and doubts about the fairness of future elections are increasing.
If America was once the shining beacon on the hill, it now feels like the lights have gone out.
