Terminator 2 has aged so well. Even my son who is Gen Alpha is incredibly impressed with the movie. We are both very much looking to this game as well!
Great practical effects always age well. It’s unfortunate few producers are willing to pay for them.
Yeah but Terminator 2's most memorable effects were famously CGI
Flying a helicopter under a bridge was practical.
> practical effects

My favourite piece of movie trivia: Terminator 2 had the biggest CGI budget of any movie to that date, but some of the scenes that most obviously needed CGI - where the T-1000 shape shifts into the body of an actor who is already in the same scene - were solved by casting actors who had identical twins.

Hah no way. I thought those scenes were CGI, overlaying 2 videos, of some sort.
I was seven years old, and T2 was the first rated R film I saw which gave me horrific apocalyptic nightmares (see: Sarah's dream).

Completely worth it.

Saw it at probably 11. Had the same nightmares for probably 15 years. Really shouldn't have watched it. Woke up many times looking out the window for the blast from Sarah's dream that I had just seen in mine.
Hum. I did that last week.

Might be because of the Fallout series, though. Or because of everything happening at the moment.

You can tell that Terminator 2 is fiction because the tech guy takes responsibility for what he unleashed on society.
Well, arguably he only takes responsibility when held at gunpoint.
He takes responsibility when he is shown what will happen if his work continues. He also sacrifices his own life.
I don't like that scene.

Any real tech guy would go, "Wait a minute, if he came back from the future to sire John, wouldn't that mean that even that wasn't the first timeline? So that would imply that even without the hardware we have in the lab that someone somewhere will invent something similar, which will then in turn lead to this Skynet and so forth?"

Good thing they only made 2 Terminator movies
Oh yeah, like the three Alien movies: Alien, Alien Romulus, and Aliens.

I see what you did there and I did the same. :)

And two Star Wars movies.
Any pricing on the physical game? Can't imagine this type of game being $69.
Maybe if they repeat "25 years later" enough times they won't need to check the math on 2026-1991
I was really doubting my perception of time for a minute there lol. T2 already felt like an older movie when the new minimum hit
"a retro-style sidescroller". Wow, really? Are arcades also coming back? Just like in the movie.
Such a good genre - contra, metal slug, ninja turtles, streets of rage, ...

I hope that someday I can feed quarters into a cabinet running this new T2 game.

Brings back memories of those arcade side scrolling games, looks so good
Make something new! For heaven's sake, why can't people make something original.
