Stripping Trump of a key weapon – the English language (volkskrant.nl)

While I can see the broader point about how the language used in diplomacy favors the native speakers... Trump is terrible at English.

The only way it is more of a weapon than a crutch is the way it is shamelessly abused, 1984-style.
