Makes sense that this was posted moments after it hit 5pm on the east coast.

The "we could be in a simulation" idea always struck me as a cop-out.
So just my own take which nobody will like ... Most of the activities I've seen to date has been identical to hundreds of re-orgs, riffs, downsizings, company refocus efforts, mergers and acquisitions I have participated in throughout my tech career. I think this was eventually going to happen regardless of who is in office as global trade is winding down at least according to a handful of the geopolitical Youtubers and the US burn rate was not sustainable. Trump actually reminds me of a CEO that drove nearly identical efforts in a company that grew to have a massive amount of bloat and waste. The employees hated all of it but the investors were mostly happy. I had survivors guilt for taking on the roles of many that were let go.
