Ask HN: How to Build a Community Group?

I've developed a command-line tool, and recently, some users have started trying it out. Now, I'm considering creating a community group on Discord or Telegram to foster discussions and support.

However, I have no prior experience in managing a community. What are some best practices? What should I do, and what should I avoid?
