While it’s commendable that this specific part is open-source, it seems somewhat misleading to claim that the AI is open-source when you must rely on someone else’s hardware for its core functionality, rather than having the option to choose your own hardware. While OpenAI may be a remarkable organization, we have limited access to their work at their discretion, and there’s no guarantee that this access will persist indefinitely.
They've added Ollama a couple of days ago.
