I remember it as painfully slow on my Apple II, but that it provided a nice Unix-like (single-tasking) environment.
I am not sure if naming anything after the Aztecs is a good idea.
Haha, naming is always a pain either way... I remember we used to use some ERM software named ISIS, this is before the Isis became infamous. After months of getting bombarded with news on the terrorist group, having to ask questions like "can you check on Isis?" became an interesting affair.
Heh. Even more funny than that is that ISIS was the name of a classified intel sharing network around the same time that Osama Bin Laden took out the WTC.

Brings back memories. Aztec C was my first C compiler on Amiga 500 way back in 1990. I learned C, I learned vi. Still have fond memories of those early days.
I used Aztec C (on 68k) for some embedded projects around 1990. I liked that they gave you the stubs for stdio and you could easily write your own I/O drivers. There weren't many useful debugging tools, but I really enjoyed using that platform.
