It's certainly disrespectful of the process, and even of his client to do something like this. Presumably he didn't even read / validate any of what was cited?

A long, long time ago, during my studies, I maintained and set up Novell networks, Windows NT, and a proprietary Linux (?) server with specialized law firm software designed for legal partnerships. What I learned from that experience: Lawyers, notaries, and debt collectors rely heavily on text templates.

In a sense, you could say they’ve been conditioned for decades to adopt predefined text. And since this approach has worked so often, perhaps they’ve lost the habit of double-checking everything that a piece of software suggests to them.

How many el-crapo lawyers have pulled that stunt now (and been caught)?
