RE "..... Maybe we'll never know what caused the doors to remain locked,...." The investigation and the vehicle safety regulator should determine what caused doors to not be able to be opened. Safety Changes ( laws )should be introduced by regulator so this can not happen again
The doors should have opened, but they should also not have all been on drugs. Either would have prevented this. I'm not saying one is more important than the other.
Does not say whether the occupants inside were conscious and trying to unlock the doors to escape? Because a locked car door is a locked car door, doesn't really matter what brand of car it is.
