That is defeatist nonsense. Sounding cynical and jaded can be confused with wisdom, but you're vastly overstating their power and influence. You would be surprised how much you as an individual can influence your senators and representatives just by calling them regularly.
But back to the point, why are they sending packets outside government networks? What are they sending? Who else may have access to that data?

It is what it is. Making criminal a president and giving him carte blanche to break the law, courtesy right wingers on Supreme Court, has consequences. And will have consequences as neither he nor Musk can afford to loose the power.
Not hard to figure this one out: An untraceable connection to any other party anywhere in the world; notably, his handler and anyone willing wanting to know how much a favor will cost.
