A long time ago pirates used to have a versioned /etc/hosts and some would join multiple Tinc user-space dynamic VPN meshes. I get why the VPN meshes went away just takes one bad apple but why did people stop using custom /etc/hosts for sharing files? Is it because most everyone is on cell phones now? Do people no longer share over SFTP? Am I one of the last people on a workstation?
