Of course it's SoftBank..
WeWork 2.0
I was thinking that. WeWork was $16bn so they're doubling up.
> 300B.

lol. Yeah ok. Meanwhile I can use deepseek under the Berkeley license with minimal hardware locally and not have to offload my content to you who will just incorporate it into your model.

Until they lobby to make it illegal, because [safety, piracy, national security] concerns...
Eh, can you really though?

Let's be real if OAI is losing money on a 200$ subscription with hyper advanced effeciency methods are you really going to save money?

You should also enjoy the free VC money while it lasts. Just like cheap uber rides were great until the vc money dried up.

I've hosted and run a lot of large LLM experiments myself. You are in no way "saving" money doing so. It's also a giant pain to be avoided if possible.

Best thing to do right now is enjoy the cheap AI and when the free money stops use the winning mature open source platform.

$40B goes in... and what comes out we'll all see. _Something_ definitely will.
How much will be used for lobbying against Deepseek and the like (i.e., buying anti-competitive laws aka cronyism)?

Seems like the right people are in Federal power one who has his own AI company, scare the main guy about the "Communist Chinese", etc.

With a $300,000,000,000 valuation, I think we can stop calling it a "start up."

Wait, WHAT!?

What about the stargate 500Bi?

Seriously, I can't understand. Are these investors fool or what?
