This is about how lame PR april fools pranks got banned on HN in 2014.

    The issue isn't clever jokes or pranks - like most people on HN, I know the history too of course it's all great.

    The problem is that companies started doing it by rote as a way to promote themselves with teh hackerz. That's lame and boring. It had gotten lame and boring years before I made that post in 2014. How much lamer and boringer is it now? exercise for the reader.
