Much as I like GenAI, the better it is, the less "authentic" it gets.
Old-school TTS is authentic: it sounds like what it is. On the other hand, whenever GenAI presents as a realistic human voice, it's doing so falsely.
Lots of people very obviously hate this stuff whenever they notice it, and any specific voice will get noticed. If you want this, say for localization into everything, I'd suggest fine tuning a model on your own voice.
