It's quite sad what's happening in America. But all of us stood in horror as the UK voted for Brexit. Possibly the most purely xenophobic and reactionary public policy catastrophe made by any European country since the end of WWII. It's also true that as whimsically blundering and stupid as the current US government may be, they haven't gotten around yet to the kind of micro-managerial protectionist rackets that every local council in other Anglophone countries use daily to harass and fine businesses.

So as someone who selects and manages tech stacks for companies in America, would I recommend right now transitioning to a cloud outside the US? As a political statement, maybe, (though it would be pretty pointless). I'd do it if I thought it would be safer in the long term, but there are very few countries I would choose to entrust with my customers' operations or their users' data, anymore than I trust the US, and the UK is certainly not one of them. If I'm looking for true privacy, I'd probably pay the extra and go with dedicated servers in Norway or Switzerland.

Why can't people see that people themselves are the problem? It's not just some bunch of Nazis. Trump was elected by an actual majority. And that majority has increased their support to him since he took office - that is, they actually approve of what he is doing.

Many people do.

Okay …

> Trump was elected by an actual majority.

False. First, if you're referring to electoral college votes, then okay, but that's a tautology: a majority of electoral college votes is what's needed to be elected president. But you're not referring to the electoral college, but rather to the popular vote — and Trump got 49.8% of the popular vote. That's not a majority of actual voters, and — by definition — that's not a majority of eligible voters.

The predicate fact is false, and the remainder is also false because Trump's approval ratings have decreased and continue to do so.
