No IoT is to insecure, buggy, and not climate resistant. Even if it overcame the first two no one in the low end spectrum will overcome the cost of the third.
There already is systems by Honeywell and others using a far more robust and secure z-wave system (vs Home Assistant) that can track wildfires but state and local governments have to actually buy and use them properly.
The bigger problem with wildfires is the human element. It's not like we do not know how to track and deal with them before or after the fact it is the bureaucracy in charge that is ether unwilling or out right ignorant in how to prepare, manage, and clean up after them.
