In retrospect my comment was ambiguous. I was referring to the (common?) experience of reporting a clearly documented bug only to have a project maintainer refuse to engage with the issue further than closing #wontfix. The system is working as intended, those who have come to harm are not valued by those with the power to make change, and no amount of documentation will change that.
