I thought this was going to be one of those cases where typography nerds are overreacting to something that 99.99% of human observers wouldn't even notice.
Unfortunately, it is not one of those cases.
If it were my family member, and my call, I'd have that redone.
It's bad enough to make me wonder if the reason really does come down to Church politics. Sort of a way for the institution itself to clear its throat dryly before a return to traditional values.
