I'm pretty indifferent to the new versus old look. What I would passionately love is the ability to mute categories -- games especially.

Agreed. I will not likely be playing games on netflix, so it would be great to not have to see this filling up space as I look for shows.

I agree with this. Would also like better open browsing. Tailored for me crap plus search only is not enough, I want to openly browse the library easily in the app itself, not some third party tool of dubious quality and purpose.

I agree, and this is definitely not a solution, but have you tried using the genre codes to look through more targeted genres? I saw it originally somewhere else, but it looks like there is https://www.netflix-codes.com/ that has the current list.

Definitely not a solution to the problem, but it provides some semblance of a workaround when I just want to look through other options.
