Show HN: I made a tool to chat-install other MCPs because I was lazy (mcpsq.xyz)

Hi HN,

I’ve been experimenting with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and ran into the same problem over and over again: I kept needing to copy-paste config files just to install or discover new MCP servers.

So… I got lazy and built myself a shortcut: MCP² (mcpsq) — a meta-MCP server that helps you install other MCP servers via chat.

You can install it in Cursor today (support for Claude, ChatGPT, etc. coming soon), and then simply say things like:

“Find me an MCP that gives browser automation” “Install the Puppeteer MCP” “Add server-sequential-thinking to my config”

If you’re a developer building your own MCP server: You can submit it by sending a PR — we’re collecting early MCP servers now so others can discover and install them easily.

The idea is to make MCP adoption smoother by going native: no copy-pasting configs, no memorizing URLs — just ask your agent.

Most agents can already do this.

“Find the mcp server named aws-kb-retrieval and add to my cursor" copied to your clipboard”

This is the website’s value add?

Thank you for your response. Without this MCP, I couldn't directly install MCP servers without having to find the right command / url and add them to the mcp.json. If you know which MCP server already supports this feature, I would love to use.

I must misunderstand what the website does. I’ll check it out again.
