Poll: Do you know about the poll feature?

I fairly often see people ask poll type questions without using the poll feature. Did you know there is one?

This feature isn't open to all (I believe you need some karma to `unlock' it.) I also believe this post would be more useful and appropriate as a comment on a thread that you feel could have used this option.

Also, some people deliberately choose not to create polls to harbor more comments and discussion.

Creating a new poll requires 200 karma when I last heard. This is the highest karma threshold because polls can be frivolous...

Yes, but I don't know how to create one, and I don't know how to find out if I've got enough karma to create one.

When you're logged in, there's a number in parenthesis next to your name, which, as far as I can tell, is your karma. Once it's high enough (it seems to be 200 for polls), go to http://news.ycombinator.com/newpoll and do whatever it says there.

Why can I vote for both yes and no?

In some polls the choices aren't exclusive. It seemed maximally flexible to leave it up to the person answering to decide.
