I’ve posted a LinkedIn article about my concerns regarding the integrity of coding challenges in web development hiring, especially with the rapid rise of AI-assisted coding tools. As someone who has struggled to find work over the past five years—due to both Covid and the increase in fake job postings—I worry that AI is making it even harder to ensure a fair playing field.
My suggestion: companies should use code sandboxes that block all AI tools for hiring-related coding projects, so candidates are evaluated on their own skills.
What do you think? Is this feasible? Are there better ways to keep hiring fair in the age of AI? Would love to hear your experiences and thoughts.
