This seems like marketing spam with no actual content just to get on HN.

You can write a thousand articles comparing things to launching a start-up. Here are a few,

a) Running a restaurant is like launching a start-up. b) Making a movie is like launching a start-up. c) Making your own beer is like launching a start-up.

Flagging this...

Well, obviously I disagree. I've launched two startups, been an active participant in Hacker News for five years now, and have a karma of about 5k.

I think that folks might be interested in what it's like to write 900 pages of fiction, especially given that it's science fiction (which typical HN-ers like) and given that not many folks have experience on both sides of the street (startup, writing).

Is that the same Travis Corcoran as in this article?

Because I think so ("The blog, called TJICistan, is no longer viewable online", same initials)

>In a blog post titled "1 down and 534 to go," 39-year-old Travis Corcoran allegedly wrote: "It is absolutely, absolutely unacceptable to shoot indiscriminately."
