Can someone genuinely explain why we keep starting wars in middle-east? It's so hard not to believe the conspiracy nowadays.
Israel wants it, and Congress is whipped. It's been like that for a while now.
Israel is the US' imperial outpost in the Middle East. Congress doesn't want the empire to lose its foothold.

I don't for a second believe that current US administration wanted this war. But it would have taken skill and finesse to avoid it, not slogans and populism.

I think there are entire books written on this subject. Oil, Israel, shipping passage, Christian nationalism, and communism. The USA has been fighting wars in the middle east since the marines landed on a beach in Beirut in 1958.
