Ask HN: Should I Pivot to Data Engineering/MLOps from Senior SDE?

I'm a senior software dev with 15+ years of experience. I recently received an offer for a senior data engineer role. With AI/ML so hyped —I'm wondering if this pivot makes sense long-term. Is data engineering/MLOps still a good growth path, or is it oversaturated?

Just be GREAT at whatever it is that you do and you'll have a long and prosperous career. I would not pivot ever to anything other than something I specifically want to pivot if you know what I mean...
