>While we haven't yet had a chance to test every config of Cyberpunk 2077 on every Mac, it's pretty safe to say that even the most tricked-out Mac Studio M3 Ultra probably won't run it as well as an equally expensive Windows gaming PC with the latest and greatest.
> the nebulous "For Your Mac" graphical preset in order to get a decent framerate playing Cyberpunk 2077 on most Macs.

Why does it seem like they frame this setting as a bad thing? I would like to believe that most people just want to play the game, and not spend the first several hours with the game tweaking and tuning settings to make the game playable.

With Apple’s limited line of hardware they can have optimal settings for every config. This seems like a great thing. Most normal people aren’t pixel peeping.

The Nintendo Switch is the 3rd best selling console of all time, despite having worst graphics and frame rates than its competitors. The masses don’t prioritize the same things as hardware and game reviewers.

More importantly, this is one of the games where you get the Mac version in a package with the Windows version if you buy on GoG or Steam.

That is, the Mac version does not require paying for it again on the app store.

I wish we also had a a temperature column for all the hardware configurations. I don't prefer to game on a Mac because the silent fan profile, often kicking in for real only at near 100 °C because Apple want silent Macs. Apple fans assure me Macs are designed to withstand such temperatures even sustained, but I'm not a big believer.
I played Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in 2023 on a mac M1 Pro when it came out, it's fairly playable already. Glad to see it's finally official, and honestly there should be more day 1 mac support.
