Show HN: Clipzy – Dialogue grep for any show or movie (clipzy.app)

I built an app that lets you query subtitle dialogue across movies & TV in real time.

Tech is a PostgreSQL 17 database running on a mini-pc in my living room, plus flexsearch on the client. The real effort was processing the extensive dataset — thanks OpenSubtitles.org!

My future goals for this project are to add server-side vector search, with the option to search across many/all titles simultaneously. I need to seriously clean the dataset to make this feasible on consumer hardware.
