Fingine: Thoughts on Side Projects and Financial Simulation (javednissar.ca)

I found this and thought the idea was interesting. Does anyone know what a more fleshed out version might look like? My experience with personal finance is limited to GnuCash, which isn't in the space of projections as far as I know.
