If you hit Dive then edit and resubmit with Dump, it forks the note you pulled it doesn't edit or overwrite.
Theres a meta debate about this on the site. Personally I like this more than having a single note which can be edited and resubmitted, it creates a level playing field where everyone is equal which is also aided by not having any user accounts or algorithm.
